Pleat Fold Tutorial Step by Step

Lately I have been obsessed with making pleat fold cards. Stampin' Up! designer series paper (DSP) with the doubled sided print is perfect for this technique.

Here is what you will need to make your own pleat fold cards. I'm warning you that it is very addictive especially for those who like to hoard DSP like it's going out of style. I'm guilty.

Materials:

1.  Card base (folded size 4.25"x5.5") - I love the Stampin' Up! Whisper White thick cardstock
2.  Designer Series Paper (Birthday Bouquet shown below - 140557)
3.  Bow Builder punch (137414), Elegant butterfly punch (127526), Balloon Bouquet punch (140609)
4.  Coordination washi tape or ribbon, linen thread (104199)
5.  Other embellishments - rhinestones (119246), Regals buttons (130029)
6.  Coordinating cardstock
7.  Stampin' Trimmer (126889)

You can purchase all these items from my online store: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/girlfriend-originals/

These directions are for making a vertical card.
Cut your DSP to measure 6.5"x3. You will then need to score it lengthwise at 1 5/8", 2.25", 4.25" and 4.75".

Now put a tiny mark at 1.25" on the short end.

Line up the 1.25" mark diagonally with the last score line and trim.

Fold mountain, valley, mountain, valley on the score lines.

To make a horizontal card you just need a piece of DSP that is 11.5"x3 and you score at 3", 4", 6", 7", 9" and 10". Again you'll make a mark at 1.5" and cut diagonally down to the last score line.
